Winter Meetings 2022

Well it's that time of year again in the MLB! Do you know what this means? For the first time since 2019 the Winter Meetings are back. With all of that being said let's take a look at some of the storylines I expect to unfold during this Winter Meetings.

1) First and foremost, Aaron Judge is about to get paid. According to reports by MLB Trade Rumors the New York Yankees latest offer to Judge is: 8 years for 300 million dollars. Will that be enough for him to stay? To be quite honest I really think this is close to getting him to stay but ultimately I think he goes home to the Bay Area and gets a payday from the Giants in the ballpark of 8 years and 352 million dollars. The deal will get done early on in the meetings quite possibly by Sunday night(or day 1 of the Winter Meetings).

2) The Texas Rangers will get their man! But who will that man be? It won't be DeGrom as many have said before including myself. All reports are that he is going back to the Mets and I tend to lean in that direction as well. So next up: Carlos Rodon. This is their guy and he is 28 years old so you could realistically give him a 5 year deal and still have room to add a pitcher like Senga out of Japan. However, the Rangers land Rodon on a 5 year and in the ballpark of 140-150 million dollar deal. They'll also trade either one or both of Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran for a DH type player. They also potentially land Mitch Haniger and rejuvenate his career.

3) The Dodgers add Justin Verlander to their rotation. He'll get in the ballpark of 3 years and 155-165 million dollars beating the AAV of Max Scherzer. They'll also add a shortstop and Xander Boegarts is the man that they land during the meetings.

Well that's my early predictions for this winter meetings in baseball. What would you like your team to do? Have a question or comment feel free to email the blog and I guarantee you I will answer your MLB questions. Until the next time. See you!!!
