Wacky Wednesday Wisdom

Good morning and Happy Wacky Wednesday Y'all! In today's installment I would love to go over the standings in the major leagues this year in the American League. This I will do with very little commentary as I want you the fans of this wonderful blog to hit me up with your thoughts. So here goes here are my standings in the American League

this year.

AL West

1) Oakland Athletics 88-74

2) Houston Astros 85-77 3 games back

3) Texas Rangers 82-80 6 games back

4) Los Angeles Angels 70-92 18 games back

5) Seattle Mariners 62-100 26 games back

My thoughts on the AL West are that is going to be a battle up until the last month of the season when the Athletics take the division with about 5 games left in the season. Why not the Astros? Because in my humble opinion I think the sting of the "alledged" cheating and the fact Dusty Baker is a good manager but don't think he can get this group of guys who are honestly heartbroken over losing AJ Hinch will be a huge whole for Houston to fill. What can I say about Los Angeles Angels? Injuries! Injuries! Plus pitching has not been their strong suit.

AL East

1) Toronto Blue Jays 93-69

2) New York Yankees 90-72 3 games back

3) Tampa Bay Rays 88-74 5 games back

4) Baltimore Orioles 78-84 15 games back

5) Boston Red Sox 62-100 31 games back

What can I say about the AL East? Not much! Don't look for Boston to be too competitive this season. Getting rid of Alex Cora right before spring training will sting. They may have lost Chris Sale to an injury as well if he is out any amount of time you can count this team out. You traded David Price and now Sale is out for some time? They'll look to see what the young arms can do. The New York Yankees finish in second only to get a wild card game in which they win. However, they will lose in the division round to the Oakland Athletics.

AL Central

1) Minnesota Twins 100-62

2) Chicago White Sox 98-64 2 games back

3) Kansas City Royals 90-72 10 games back

4) Detroit Tigers 78-84 22 games back

5) Cleveland Indians 68-94 32 games back

This is the division I want to see! Why? Because despite the Chicago White Sox paying money and making trades to get better they still finish in second in the division. However, with what they did in the offseason they have the firepower and stay power to hang with the Minnesota Twins this year. The Cleveland Indians however look to prove that Jon Daniels is not that bad of a GM when they finish in last and ultimately watch Kluber finish in the top 5 in the Cy Young this year.

Well that is this week's installment of Wacky Wednesday Wisdom. Be sure to check out next week's installment as we look at the National League and give you my predictions as to how that shapes out this year. So what are your thoughts? Who finishes where? Hit me up! Until next week have a Happy Wacky Wednesday Y'all!
