Wacky Wednesday Wisdom

Good morning and Happy Wacky Wednesday Y'all! Today I really want to talk about a subject that not only is in our sports arenas but is also in our school's and is present in everyday life. You know what that elephant in the room is? If you guessed: Gun violence! Guess again! It is something that even Major League Baseball is doing to Minor League Baseball? Yes that's right they are trying to "bully" them into submission.

First off, I want to be perfectly clear that I really had a hard time with wrestling with if I wanted to talk about this, however, it is something that needs to be discussed. You see we live in a day and time that even in sports the executives and owners and league commissioners think they can "bully" their way into others being submissive. Look at MLB and MiLB(Minor League Baseball): you have one side Rob Manfred the commissioner of Major League Baseball trying to deplete the Minor League Baseball world by trying to eliminate 42 minor league teams at the very least. You have the Minor League Baseball community lashing out at Manfred for trying to "screw up" the love of the game. Just earlier this week Manfred basically giving MiLB an ultimatum that it is either you come to the table and negotiate or else "bye-bye". This is the classic example of "bullying" others into doing things your way or else. You know where a lot of this mentality stems from? OUR PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM! You have kindergarten kids who are told they have to basically have a Bachelor's degree to pass the grade level. What happened to the end of semester exams? You guessed it! Government has taken over! Just like in this case of baseball Bernie Sanders said he and some politicians will get involved if nothing is done. You know when I was in kindergarten it was recess and lots of coloring and tracing. Now because our lovely government has taken over and "bullied" teachers into saying anything. Children are being forced in kindergarten to be able to write a stinkin novel. I want to reiterate that I have no problems with tests in general. What I do have a problem with is our flipping government sticking their noses where they don't belong.

This is where I am going to be bold and not so beautiful. Why are you teachers NOT standing up for our students? Is it because you too fear for your job like those in Minor League Baseball? You are too scared to stand up to the bully? Teachers have the power as do those Minor League Baseball officials to stand up to the bully and say enough is enough! I'll tell you that's the exact reason they won't stand up to the "higher ups". You might like your superintendent, but you have to realize that they are elected officials and are just as much lining their pockets with the money from these "standardized" tests than any other government official. That's the real problem just like in Major League Baseball no one wants to follow the money, no one wants to stand up to the bully, and no one is willing to say enough is enough.

Would you afford me one last history lesson? Do you know where the notion of standardized tests came from? H Ross Perot! Yes that Perot that run for office over two decades ago. He created the "TAAS" test and used during his political run that we as Americans are NOT as smart as our counterparts in other countries. This is where BIG MONEY started to come into play for "Standardized" tests! Again, this is another classic example of government putting their noses where it didn't belong. Was there anyway wrong with the way it was when I was in grade school back when dirt was first discovered? Absolutely NOT! So why fix something that isn't broke right? This is the same case in baseball as MLB and Rob Manfred are arguing that the only 42 Minor League clubs they want to "get rid of" are underperforming (in other words, not bringing in enough money). Do we honestly want the government over-stepping their bounds and putting their

long last hold on sports?

In conclusion, I am absolutely sick and tired of the "bullying" that is present not only in schools but now ever pressing in our sports. What do you plan on doing? Do you plan on standing up to the "bullies"? Or do you want the government to take hold and never look back? What are your thoughts on this issue?
