Welcome Back to Wacky Wednesday Wisdom! Yes, it has been a couple of weeks since the last installment due to the holiday last week. However, it's time to get back into the grind of things and discuss this weeks Wacky Wisdom. This week's topics discussed will include Anthony Rendon, Zack Wheeler, NFL coaches on the hot seat, and NBA news.
First off let's look at Anthony Rendon rumors as of late:
What we know? The Dodgers and Rangers have already met with Rendon and his agent Scott Boras.
The Texas Rangers are seen as the favorites to sign Rendon.
Proximity to home in Houston could play a huge factor.
Playing against the Houston Astros in the division multiple times NOT just in the World Series could very well also play a factor.
The pitch used by the Rangers could have sounded like this: Do you want to be the face of the organization and the staple to us going into our new ballpark(used the face of franchise pitch with former third baseman Adrian Beltre).
He could have better playing time going forward and more years in an American League Team for instance he could play third base for the Rangers for a few years and out of his prime play DH and continue to mentor the up and coming third basemen in the Rangers organization.
Several executives from the Rangers organization were involved none have been named outright however I'm certain Michael Young, Shiraz Rehman and Jon Daniels were the very least that attended. Michael Young going to pitch for the Rangers as to how the playing atmosphere is in Texas.
In other baseball news: Zack Wheeler bidding topping out at 9 figures.
Teams involved: White Sox, Phillies, Reds, and Blue Jays.
Team eliminated from services: Texas Rangers
Most intriguing: not a top tier pitcher, ERA under 4, and will play with the best of them.
Negative: He is tied to draft compensation and last year and some of this year seems to be a problem with how slow the market is going for free agents.
Next up on Wacky Wednesday Wisdom we look at the coaches on the hot seat:
1) Doug Marrone, Jaguars
2) Jason Garrett, Cowboys
3) Dan Quinn, Falcons
4) Ron Rivera, Panthers----no longer on hot seat he was let go by the Panthers yesterday.
5) Matt Patricia, Lions
My Prediction for these teams head coaches next year:
1) Cowboys, Urban Meyer
2) Jaguars, Ron Rivera
3) Falcons, Josh McDaniels
4) Panthers, Jack Del Rio
5) Lions, Matt Patricia
6) Giants, Jason Garrett
In NBA news, the Dallas Mavericks continue to have something special in Luka Doncic as he continues to show how special he is to the Mavs organization. But the real question is: Can he win an NBA title and MVP? Absolutely! If he can remain healthy the way that Dirk did early on in his playing career and can show he is not going to slow down, he could very well win 3 titles and 3 MVP's while donning a Mavericks uniform. In just his second year in the league he is winning player of the week and player of the month awards like no other NBA player among him. He has proved he can play with the best of them as he has beaten the best in the Lakers and LeBron and never looked back. Way to go Luka! Keep up the good work!
