The Night the Lights Went Out at Globe Life Park

It was a breezy warm and somewhat humid night in the home of the Texas Rangers. You could smell the air, you could smell the hot dogs, and the cracker jacks well unfortunately won't grace the presence of the ballpark ever again. In February, the park will get a new tenant and football memories will be made.

It was the bottom of the first inning, and the fans were just as electric as they were in 1996 when they played these same Yankees in the ALDS(not the same players with the exception of maybe one or two). The Rangers were down 1-0 and the fans with runners on second and third were getting more and more electric. The Rangers scored two in that inning and took the 2-1 lead.

We move to the sixth inning and things start to unravel for the New York Yankees as they are down 5-1 and Roughned Odor comes up to the plate with the bases loaded. For someone who has had a simple bat most of this season it was a lot asking him to add to the lead. However, the September player of the month stepped up and took one to deep right center field.

All in all, the night the lights went out at Globe Life Park was more than thrilling to witness. Lots of fun things to see including: the Country music hall of fame legend Charlie Pride. While it was not the last game of the season it was the night the lights went out at Globe Life Park. Until next year when the greatest coach in college football history(Bob Stoops! OK I'm a biased Sooner fan) steps foot in that stadium to make more memories of hopefully hoisting up a XFL championship trophy I will be pleased and am proud I got to grace the Ballpark for one last time. Until next year the lights will be turned out and we will grace the likes of the AC in Globe Life Field.
