Elite status not enough

Well the stages are set for the AFC and NFC Championship games and just like that there is one team I want to spend the majority of my time on: The New England Patriots! Why do I want to spend the majority of my time on this team? Because in a world of Elites this team is far greater than even an Elite team. Listed below are some of the reasons they are beyond Elite:

1) Thirteen conference championship game in the era of Brady/Belichek. This is a phenomenal feat in and of itself NOT any NFL team even the one that has claimed to be America's Team over the last three decades can even stand up to this New England Patriots dynasty. Do you realize that in the thirteen conference championship games they have reached the AFC Championship game in 8 of those 13. For you math geniuses out there that is more than half the time they go to a conference game they are putting themselves in position for another NFL Championship win.

2) I don't care who you are if you are any type of football fan you have to put Tom Brady at the top of the mountain when it comes to NFL quarterbacks. NOT only is he at the top but he is every employers dream in that he plays through some of the most horrendous injuries. For instance, this year the man played through tearing his MCL. Are you kidding me? If you or someone you know has a passion for football this is the man you want your football loving friends to look up to. I also like hearing media heads talk about how down to earth the man is. Did you know he makes an effort to meet and help young rookies? Name another NFL quarterback who has done that over the last decade and managed to have more Superbowl rings than any other team over the last decade.

Now that I took some time to look at the above Elite team let's take a look at the AFC and NFC Championship games

1) AFC Championship game

NE Patriots at KC Chiefs

For the first time in a long time the Pats are the heavy underdogs in this matchup. With all due respect to Patrick Mahomes I really think they get their lunch handed to them and not necessarily on the scoreboard but as a QB who will be pressured a lot just to see if they can rattle the young QB's cage.

Final Score: 28-13 Pats

2) NFC Championship game

LA Rams at New Orleans Saints

I really thought that going into the conference championship game hands down it would be New Orleans and New England again in the Superbowl. However, after watching the conference game IF the Rams just as much 3/4 show up then it could be a huge change of events. With Brees in full control of the game though I really do think this game comes down to the defense and New Orleans has been on the top of its game all season.

Final Score: 35-17 Saints

Final thoughts: In closing, I am going out on a limb and think this game is going to be a rematch of a past Superbowl and will pit the New Orleans Saints against the New England Patriots. This will be a game that will prove the inevitable and that is that the NE Patriots are indeed America's Team(sorry Cowboys you lost that status years ago....you remember when you fired Jimmy Johnson?). With all of this said I really can't think of anything to say, but, elite is NOT good enough.
